What is cardic inspiration?

Cardiac inspiration is also known as the respiratory sinus arrhythmia. It refers to the variation in heart rate that occurs with each breath during normal breathing. During inspiration, the sympathetic nervous system is activated, which causes an increase in heart rate and blood pressure. This is followed by a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure during expiration due to activation of the parasympathetic nervous system. The cardiac inspiration can be measured using electrocardiography (ECG) by analyzing the RR interval, which is the time between successive R waves. It is a normal physiological response and helps to regulate the cardiovascular system's function by allowing blood flow to be more efficiently directed to the body during inspiration when oxygen demands are higher. Additionally, studies have shown that individuals with impaired cardiac function may exhibit abnormal respiratory sinus arrhythmia.
